Can my 501(c)(4) organization engage in lobbying activities?

Social welfare organizations described in Section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code may engage in attempts to influence legislation, including lobbying, provided that the lobbying efforts are related to the organization’s to exempt purpose that gives it 501(c)(4) status in the first place.
